“My personal journey through menopause was similar to that of many of my patients. I experienced hot flashes and night sweats. I wasn’t miserable but I didn’t feel my best. The changes were slow but steady. By the time I recognized them I had a big problem! Living through ten years of untreated menopause had left me depressed,100 pounds overweight, and with several other health issues. I decided to look at the problems of menopause with fresh eyes.

My early approach to menopause had been influenced by the Women’s Health Initiative study (it has since been largely discredited). It had frightened me of any hormone treatment.

I realized I needed to change my approach. So I set out to find ways to improve the quality of my life without compromising my health. What I found has made a big difference in life, my self-image and my happiness. I want to share what I’ve learned.”
